Mt Ashwabay Ski and Recreation Area is a location where Laeken and Jezreel have spent many hours hiking with friends and family over the years, and most recently is the location where Jezreel proposed to Laeken. Take a long walk here with those special to you and take time to tell them what you appreciate about them.
The Ashland SDA Church is the couple’s official church, and Laeken’s childhood church. Join the couple and their families for worship Saturday, July 19 at 11:00 AM.
Stop by the Black Cat and enjoy a caffeinated beverage in the back room with a used book. Laeken's Recommendation: Iced Lavender and Honey Latte with Oat Milk Jezreel's Recommendation: Hot Dark Chocolate Mint Mocha with Whip
Chequamegon Books is one of the couple’s more recent finds. Bring a couple bucks and peruse the many shelves of used and new books for sale. Bring a beverage from the North Coast Coffee and pop-a-squat in their back room with your new purchase.
A favorite location for the couple and their families, Top O’ the Morn offers tent and camper sites (Cabins are fully rented out for the week of the wedding). Stop by the Ramsey’s campsite and see if they are in, or take a break in “Hammock Town.”
El Tarasco (more commonly known as El Dorado (never call it El Tarasco in front of Laeken)) is one of the couples favorite places to eat in the area. Stop by and fight over the check, even if you know EXACTLY who is going to pay for it.
Find a parking space and enjoy an 11.5 mile walk around the city of Ashland. Take in the beauty of Lake Superior and take some nice photos with friends/family.
Rocky Acres Berry Farm has been Laeken’s place of work for the past 6 years. Wander through berry fields and pick a pint or two for weekend up north.
