We met through an online dating app. John is a true accountant and wanted to be sure I was worth the investment. So he did what any romantic accountant would do and asked me to join him for an appetizer so he could perform a cost-benefit analysis. You see, dinner is a risk in time and money. Our first date was at Chuy's Tex-Mex where we enjoyed a margarita and the FREE nacho bar. I must have passed the test because wine and dinner at Shuck Oyster Bar followed.
My love for Megan grows each and every day I spend with her. From early on, her care and compassion showed through feeding me spaghetti and mac 'n cheese during some of my toughest times. Her fun side showed when she threw a birthday party for Mosley, with homemade peanut butter balls and a birthday hat at the dog park with all of his friends. I love her adventurous side, traveling the world with me to unknown destinations and curious places. She is my partner in good times and bad - I am so proud that she will be my wife!
The first moment I fell in love with John was on our second date. We were in Market Square and some kids were playing a game of 4-square. We joined in and immediately John starting talking smack to 12 year-olds. It warmed my heart and made me laugh. We grabbed a drink afterward at a place overlooking Market Square. It poured and I was so grateful to wait out the rain with him. We never ran out of things to say. I fall in love with "Responsible John" every time I hear him talk about me to our dogs, every time I see how happy he gets at Costco, and in all the ways he takes care of our little fur family. John is home to me. He makes me laugh every day and I cannot wait for him to be my forever best friend.
John asked me to wake up early and watch the sunrise in Barcelona. We climbed to the top of Plaça de Catalunya. Halfway up, he shared three reasons he loved us and asked me to share my three reasons. At the top, John told me there were so many more reasons he loved me and soon I couldn't see through my tears. I remember thinking how nice it was for a sweet stranger to have my back and take photos. It took me a couple of beats after "Yes!" to realize John had planned the most romantic moment and she was there to capture it! Some may say it took John 5 years to run another cost-benefit analysis and ask me to marry him. I say it took him 5 years to figure out if he could afford all my DIY projects.
