Go for a lovely stroll in this BEAUTIFUL campus. Get your camera ready to take pictures of the LIVE lion mascots, UNA and Leo III. Yes, these are real lions, and their home is way better than yours. UNA is also beloved for other reasons beyond its beauty... 1) The bride attended UNA for a hot minute and lived in Rice Hall. The mother of the bride also attended UNA and ALSO lived in Rice Hall. 2) This is where the bride and Britney Ashford met and became life long best friends very quickly.
We cant bring you to the Tri Cities area and NOT mention Fame recording studio! If you love music (and seeing that you are a part of our tribe, that would mean that yes you do love music) you can be assured that your favorite recording artists have recorded here and maybe, just maybe they even created your favorite ditty to dance to while hanging out in this famed recording studio
Okay, so some history about the recording industry in North Alabama: It got sticky. Rick Hall had FAME recording studios, but the house band at this studio left and partnered with Jerry Wexler to found Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. Music History is RAD.
Yes, the famed water pump is located here. Yes, Lacye was photographed here as a toddler (yes, she had that awful bowl cut), thus resulting in the photographs being placed on display at the Florence Mall. Ask the mother of the bride for duplicates of the original photographs, she will gladly show you, in fact the mother of the bride loves these relics of a bad haircut so much she will probably gladly even give you a copy!
Did you know that the Bride is a freak over Midcentury Modern EVERYTHING?!?! The obsession is a little much. The history of this gem (Frank Lloyd Wright built a house in ALABAMA y'all!!!) is rad, and the original owners used to give tours, but upon their passing tours are now given via volunteers. If you love Midcentury Modern, or if you just love amazing architecture, please go see this. You will not be disappointed.
One of the last Drive In's still operating double features. Go support a local business and a drive in! BEWARE though, you will probably see the bride there chowing down on slug burgers and she will not smile at you since you are interrupting delicious food and a double feature.
Wait...Is this real?! YES IT IS! Get ready for a beautiful drive up the mountain to this see some impressive tombstones, monuments, and altars dedicated to the many beloved Coon Dogs of the area. We promise it is something that you have never seen before, and is a must see. Especially if you love dogs.
One of the bride's favorite foods. Y'all do not even know. Do not ask, just take the couple minute drive to Mississippi, and pick up a pack of them. They're about $0.40 each. DO NOT cheat yourself by going through the drive up. Go inside, sit down, chow down on delicious greasy slug burgers, and leave smelling like grease and cigarette smoke. True bliss.
