At the end of a McCleskey family trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Sam pulled off quite the surprise. Family and friends all snuck onto the island and hid at the Harborside Bar while Sam proposed under the Liberty Oak in Harbor Town (a task made all the more difficult by Lacy's obsessive use of "Find my Friends" on her phone). After some clever fake family photo posing orchestrated by photographer and best man Will Fontaine, Sam got down on one knee and Lacy said yes. A mob of people came running, umbrella drinks in hand, from their hiding spot and the most wonderful weekend began. The McCleskeys have been coming to Hilton Head since Lacy was three and she considers the island her favorite place on Earth- Sam knew there really was no better place to ask her to spend the rest of their lives together.
