We met working at the Winchester Country Club - Lacy was a waitress at the pub (which she hated) and Matthew was a co-manager of the pool snack shack (which he loved). We were introduced at work but it wasn't until we found each other online that we decided to get to know each other. Matthew read that Lacy had studied in Germany and we started talking about our travels. We went for our first date at a drive-in movie theater & talked through the whole thing. At the time, Matthew was planning on starting with the Navy in a few months & Lacy was about to start graduate school. Matthew didn't end up going into the service, but we ended things in a short time. Here's where it gets dramatic...we then got back together. Eventually Matthew went off to Virginia Tech and Lacy stayed in Winchester to finish graduate school - so they ended things yet again. But as they say, third time's the charm. We reconnected while Lacy was living in NC. After a weekend away in Asheville, we decided to try yet again - for real this time. One cross-country move (and back), a dog, and a baby later, here we are!
