Our Story

How we met (Lacy's Version) In 2019, Chase and I were introduced to each other by a very well-known mutual friend; Anna Grace Johnson. We had all gone out to Guitars and Cadillacs, a two-stepping dance hall in Abilene, Texas, when I met Chase for the first time. He asked me to dance (even though I was wearing vans) and I quickly fell in love with being spun around. Chase and I seamlessly became good friends and hung out frequently with our friend group. We would go hunting, fishing and dancing as often as we could, and Chase would always offer to pick me up. 2021 Chase and I had begun to fall for each other. I specifically remember when it began for me. Chase took me on a surprise date to Phantom Lake where he had found an old dock. He turned on music in his truck, and we danced on that old dock for what seemed like hours. That's when I knew he would be in my life forever. Soon after, we were dancing outside of his house one evening. Chase dipped me, and instead of bringing me back up to my feet, he held me upside down until I agreed to be his girlfriend! We laughed so hard that night! 2022 I moved back home and the distance between SC and TX seemed greater than ever. Chase and I broke up because there seemed to be no way to be together at that point in our lives. We were heartbroken. I transferred to Charleston Southern University, but Chase would come and see me as often as he could even though we were "just friends". Time and distance separated us physically, but kindred spirits can't be separated that easily. 2024 Chase and I began dating again while I was still at CSU and had begun talking about getting married (a topic that was not new for us). As we became more serious, Chase’s mom became seriously ill. She passed away in February of 2024, but she was one of the biggest factors in mine and Chase's relationship since the beginning. She always knew we would get married. A few months after she passed, Chase and I both agreed that life is too short to be apart any longer. Chase surprised me at my "Senior Photoshoot" and asked me to be his wife… and I said yes! My FIRST dance partner will now be my LAST! How we met (Chase's Version) In 2019, Lacy and I met at college. I was already friends with Anna Grace, and on the first night I met Lacy, Anna Grace said to me “you have to teach my sister how to dance!” So, our first time meeting was on the dance floor. Since that day, we became great friends, but never pursued a relationship beyond that until 2021. We realized we were very fond of each other. The number one thing that brought us closer and closer is we both knew we loved and followed Jesus. Chase’s Cool Facts: -Lacy always said she felt like she was going to marry someone from Texas. -Chase's close friends would say "Lacy fits the description of your dream girl that you would describe before having met Lacy.” -Lacy's Mom is from Texas. -Chase's Mom is from South Carolina.
