We met at Wizard World Comic Con when our friends convinced us to participate in Sy-fi speed dating (which was free for Lacie, $20 for Nam!). Per usual, Nam was late to the event and sat down in front of Lacie. Nam didn't want to wait for the whole event to start as there were only three minutes to speak to each other. He started talking to Lacie immediately, despite being assaulted by a Jedi with a lightsaber for talking before it was time to! At the end of the event, Lacie did not seem to be impressed by him because she did not give Nam any of her contact information before leaving. Nam was determined to get Lacie's number and found her later in the evening. After some convincing, Lacie agreed to meet him and his friends for a drink that night and the rest is history!

Nam proposed to Lacie at their home on 9/22/17. He incorporated their friends to plan the proposal and party afterwards. Melody (maid of honor) took Lacie back to her house after work to do what Lacie thought was just hair and makeup and get ready for going out later that night. She convinced Lacie to stop at her house before meeting Nam to pick something up, and when they got back all of the curtains were closed and it was dark. Melody told Lacie to open the sliding glass window, and when she did she did, the deck was decorated for a party and there were lights leading to the lower level of the deck. Melody said "Follow the lights!" and Lacie followed them down to where Nam was waiting on one knee. She said "Yes!" and family and friends came out of hiding to celebrate their engagement.
