UPDATE: It is shaping up to be a balmy October, even by Texas standards. Please feel free to adjust your attire based on the weather to be comfortable for our outdoor ceremony + reception. Acclimated to the heat and have your heart set on a traditional wedding outfit? Great, us too! Prefer to opt for a sundress or polo? Also great! The goal is happy guests & good times, not heat stroke. With our Oktoberfiesta theme, we'll be in bright, festive colors & all dressed up to mark the occasion. We would love for our guests to join us with festive attire! So go ahead, wear that outfit or pair of shoes in the closet you’ve always wanted to wear but never had quite the right event. The pavilion has a wooden deck that we hope to utilize as our dance floor. With this in mind, we would probably recommend against heels (or perhaps throw in some flats for the reception). Seating is beer garden style with benches, but we'll also have some folding chairs available for those that need them.
The Arneson River Theater is in downtown San Antonio where parking is challenging. Please allow plenty of time to find parking and walk to the venue. Street parking is free on Sundays, and there is often parking available on Villita St & surrounding streets. The closest parking lots are on/around Villita street and run ~$10 for a full day of parking. For the reception, there is ample free parking at Brackenridge Park. The closest parking lot can be found by mapping to 'San Antonio Zoo Train Depot.' It is a short 5 minute walk from the parking lot to Koehler pavilion. Guests with mobility challenges can be dropped off directly in front of the pavilion.
The ceremony will start at 3:00pm, but feel free to arrive a bit early to grab a seat! The Arneson River Theater is in downtown San Antonio where parking can be challenging. Please allow plenty of time to find parking and walk to the venue.
Don't worry, we've got you covered.
We've listed the start time for the reception as 5pm as we expect to have about an hours worth of family photos and such after the ceremony. The drive from downtown to Brackenridge park usually takes around 15 minutes. The pavilion will have snacks, etc. so you are welcome to head straight there. Another option would be to linger for a bit and enjoy being on the riverwalk before heading to the pavilion!
