Eddie and Lacey met at ages 15 and 14 (respectively) in Akron, Ohio at a performing arts summer camp. In the final night after the closing performance, they crossed paths again at TGI Fridays when Eddie sat next to Lacey. They sparked up a conversation, and after dinner bid their farewells. As she headed to the parking lot to leave with her family, Eddie ran outside and asked for her phone number. Instead, she gave him her AOL instant messenger. She left to go home to Nebraska and Eddie went home to Philadelphia. They would talk on AOL, write letters (yes, with pen and paper), and once they got cell phones, would buy minutes to talk to one another on their way to school. The pair dated on and off through high school and college, attempting to maintain a long distance relationship but often failing. Eventually, Lacey left Nebraska and moved to Akron, Ohio where Eddie now lived. There, they welcomed a baby girl, Sienna, and eventually Eddie welcomed another baby girl, Nyla. Their paths diverged and intertwined over the years, but could never overcome distance and differences. Until now! From Ohio to Pennsylvania to Nebraska to Indiana…two years ago these two kids found their way back to one another in Dallas, TX. Go Cowboys, and cheers to love transcending distance and time.
