Bradley was working for the port authority of New York conducting trainings and I was managing a retail store in La Guardia Airport. I had to attend one of his trainings and he picked on me the entire time because he didn't think I was listening. After the training he tried to talk to me and in typical Lacee fashion I put my headphones on and walked away. He was persistent and came into my store every time I was working and spent time getting to know me. After a few weeks he asked me out, and obviously I agreed. I still remember what he was wearing when we met for our first date on 49th street and the butterflies I felt in my stomach. Here we are 12 years later, 2 kids, and in love.
Bradley surprised me with a trip to Nice (My favorite city in the world!) over Valentines Day. We had been in the city for a few days relaxing, sleeping in, and having lots and lots of coffee dates at cafes. It was festival in Nice and we decided to walk on the beach while everyone was at the flower parade. The beach was fairly empty and we spent the time talking, laughing, and watching the sun set. I made a comment that if the kids were with us they would be building a pebble castle, rather than a sand castle. I jokingly started stacking pebbles and when I had a tower that looked solid I told B to place the final rock, the crown jewel at which point he rolled over pulled out the ring and told me he had just the thing. I was speechless for probably the first time in my life. He obviously spent several minutes telling me how wonderful and amazing I am (duh!) and after I stopped crying I said YES!!!
