As a sales associate at Orangetheory, I noticed Edgar would come in everyday about 20 minutes before his scheduled class to make sure he always started on treadmill 10. Why that was his favorite treadmill? I don't know. He would come inside the studio and sit on his phone in the lobby not talking to anyone. From the few conversations we did have, I slowly started growing an interest in him. Because I had access to his class schedule, I made sure to "accidentally" bump into Edgar by working out either in the class before, or the class after his scheduled class. Eventually, I guess he gave in and asked for my contact information! Here we are now!
Sometime in 2019, we were walking around the Pearl on a Friday afternoon and came across our proposal spot for the first time. We kept talking about how beautiful it was. Edgar was being really suspicious taking pictures of everything and documenting our evening, it was all very out of character and it put me on edge! I finally had the courage to ask (as I was freaking out internally) “Oh my gosh you’re not going to propose to me right now right?!?! ” His response, being super dramatic as usual, was “PFFFFFFFFT you thought I was going to propose?!? (insert his obnoxious laugh here). Needless to say we hadn’t been there since! Fast forward to our engagement. I had already been working with Bianca for a few hours, as she worked her magic taking my law school graduation pictures. The three of us left Bianca’s studio and went to The Pearl. As we’re walking down to that same spot I’m telling Bianca the same story, making sure to leave out no details. Bianca was as cool as a cucumber, remaining calm and collected as I tell the story that I wasn’t aware she already heard. (Award winning performance by Bianca!) She sets up to so I can take some individual photos in “the spot,” asks me to face away, and turn around slowly to face the camera, like “veeeeerrrrrry slowly” (words cannot emphasize enough how slow she wanted me to turn). Next thing I know Edgar is down on one knee popping the question! To be honest in my shock, I only remember some of what Edgar said when he asked me to marry him but what really stuck out to me is “I guess you’re 1-1 now!”
