We met at his sister's gender reveal. I (Alyssa) remember showing up to the gender reveal and immediately asking "who is that and who is going to introduce me?" It was 1/2 joke, 1/2 seriousness. We spoke briefly, but shortly after silence fell and I thought I ran him off (HAH!). His sister's mother-in-law (also my sister's mother-in-law) told us separately that she would plan an event and get us together by the end of the night. Time passes and our families receive an invitation to a New Years Eve party (2024) at her place. On arrival, she PHYSICALLY pushes us together and says "talk". Hector's opening line was trying to convince me he could take on a panther but I would have to fend for myself against a gator. We talked all night, but I began to think "man, is he ever going to ask for my number?". Well... no, he did not ask for my number.. In fact, I walked up to him with my phone out and told him "put your number in my phone so we can continue these conversations." Fast forward to us now getting married. La suegra de su hermana (que también es la suegra de mi hermana) nos dijo por separado que organizaría un evento para juntarnos antes de que terminara la noche. Pasó el tiempo y nuestras familias recibieron una invitación a una fiesta de despedida del año Viejo (2024) en su casa. Al llegar, ella literalmente nos empujó para juntarnos y nos dijo: "Hablen". La frase con la que Héctor rompió el hielo fue un intento de convencerme de que él podría enfrentarse a una pantera, pero que yo tendría que defenderme por mí misma si aparecía un cocodrilo. Conversamos toda la noche, pero empecé a pensar: "Coño... Este nunca me va a pedir el número?". Bueno... no, no me pidió el número. De hecho, fui yo quien se le acercó con el teléfono en la mano y le dije: "Pon tu número en mi teléfono para que podamos seguir con estas conversaciones". Avancemos en el tiempo hasta el presente: ahora nos vamos a casar! Quién hubiera imaginado que la capacidad de enfrentarse a una pantera lograría enamorarme perdidamente.
