We request that all guests refrain from photographing or video taping the ceremony itself, but encourage guests to snap away before the ceremony and during the reception, and may post these photos with the hashtag #labinskysinlove so that we might find them after the fact.

Question

What is a handfasting?

Answer

It is a Pagan tradition in which a couple literally binds their hands together with a cord to symbolize the binding together of two people and their commitment to one another. It is the origin of the phrase “tying the knot”.

Question

Why will we be standing in a circle for the ceremony?

Answer

We are all family here, and instead of choosing sides, we would prefer to be surrounded by the love and affection you all show us.

Question

Will last names be changing after the wedding?

Answer

Yes! We have elected to change both of our last names to Megan’s mother’s maiden name, Labinsky! (Hence the hashtag #labinskysinlove).
