Shuttle
January 26, 2024 6:00 am
CARM shuttle will be our preferred airport shuttle company. They will take you from Cancun Airport to Port Puerto Juarez where you will catch the ferry to Isla Mujeres. Be sure to use our promo code (LabelMeACrabill) for a discount! The promo code is valid for $5 USD off a round trip or $2 USD off a one way transfer, when booked online at the following link: https://www.cancunandrivieramaya.com/transfers/isla-mujeres.asp You must enter the promo code on the first page of booking. Your location will auto-fill as: Gran Puerto Juarez Ultramar Ferry Dock: Promo codes are not valid for phone or email reservations, and may not be applied retro-actively. Things to know: 1- Do not book a flight that lands to the Cancun Airport after 8:15 PM (the last ferry to the island is at 11:00 PM) 2- Do not book a flight that departs the Cancun airport before 10:00 AM. (The first ferry from the island in the morning is 6:00 AM, with a 6:20 AM pick up, you will arrive at the airport by approximately 7:30 AM.) 3-When booking with CARM they will provide a roundtrip airport shuttle and 2 ferry tickets. You'll receive both ferry tickets upon arrival. The tickets are one way to Isla Mujeres and back to Cancun. Also, you may book shared rides with other wedding guests if you're arriving at the same time. 4-Don't forget to order your cervezas during your ride to the port. The drive from the airport to the ferry dock will take 15-20 minutes. 5-Transportation on the island is not included as private transportation companies are not allowed to operate on Isla Mujeres. If you require a taxi to your house on arrival, the taxi stand is to the left of the ferry terminal--you will tell the taxi driver the name of your house and they will know where to go! 6-Your departure confirmation email from CARM will tell you what time you must board the ferry leaving Isla Mujeres and what time they will be picking you up at the Gran Puerto Juarez Ultramar Ferry Dock in Cancun.
Rental Car
The easiest way to get around the island is by golf cart. We highly recommend renting a golf cart during your stay. There are several places that you can rent from that will cost approximately $60-$70 per day. They will require you to leave a driver license for the deposit. Helpful hint... bring an old license if you still have one lying around. :) Some rental companies allow you to book in advanced if you prefer. Suggested Rental Companies: Prisma Golf Cart Rentals, http://www.isla-mujeres.net/rentadoras/prisma/prisma.htm Indios Golf Cart Rentals, https://www.indios-golfcarts.com STAY AWAY FROM: Luxury Car Rentals Here’s a link to reserve a golf cart in advance: https://www.goodmexican.com/golf-cart-rentals-isla-mujeres If you prefer to wait until you are on the island, don’t worry, there are always plenty of golf carts available! You can also rent a scooter if that’s more your speed.
House Or Rental
We are taking care of all house rentals--we will be in touch soon to provide everyone individual details for their stay!!
Travel Note
1.) Don't forget your passport! 2.) We encourage you to exchange U.S dollars for pesos as your dollar will go further. Exchange rates vary. Please note most places will take U.S. dollar, but not all will take credit cards. Beware: there may be a 5%-10% service charge when using a credit/debit card to pay. Exchange rate is approximately $16 pesos to $1 US dollar. However, the exchange rate will increase when using the U.S. Dollar--it is best to use pesos during your stay. If you do bring U.S. Dollars bring small bills. There are several banks on the island to exchange pesos directly from your bank account. Our suggestion would be to order pesos from your bank before you leave and use the banks as a means to pull out more if needed. Here's a helpful app to download to help with exchange rates while on the island: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/currency-converter-calculator/id1457309557 3.) Everyone works for tips so if someone helps you (i.e., carries your bags to the shuttle) be sure to give them a little tip! Also, look on your checks for tips already included in your totals. 4.) Set-up international call/text plan prior to arrival on the island. Every house will be equipped with WiFi and some restaurants will offer it as well however, WiFi is not consistently available across the island. 5.) Once you arrive to Isla Mujeres from the ferry exit the port and make a left onto the street. The taxi line will be 50 feet to your left. It will cost approximately $5-$7 U.S dollar to your house. OR you may head directly to the golf cart rental to pick up your personal golf cart. 6.) Download "WhatsApp" so that we can all communicate while on the island! **This will also make it easy for us to coordinate someone at the ferry dock upon your arrival to help with golf carts/taxis/or shuttling you in our personal golf cart to your house.
