Most of these places are less than 5 minutes from the Inn, along the White Mountain Highway: - Moat Mountain (the smoked sausage is incredible) - Tuckerman's Restaurant & Tavern (20 mins out, big fan of the Rock pile IPA) - Ledge Brewing & Tacos - May Kelly's Cottage (if you're looking for a good pint of Guinness and Irish pub fare) - The Local Grocer (great for smoothies, coffee, and light bites)
- Settler's Green Outlet Village (what's better than outlet shopping with no tax! All the usual options including REI - Recreational Equipment Inc our favorite store! Like MEC ;).) - Zeb's General Store (lots of local tchotchkes! Fun little local things to bring home) - L.L. Bean (hip new England outdoor retailer, lots of rubber boots, worth checking out!) - Toy Chest North Conway ... toys for you or your kids?
- Conway Scenic Railroad - Mount Washington car road (not for the faint of heart but there's that cool bumper sticker)! - Whitaker Woods (hike a few minutes from the Inn) - Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf (mini-putt!!!) - Diana's Baths hike (short 20 min hike to beautiful pools and waterfall to swim or just look at) - Echo Lake Trail (another short 20 min hike around a lake surrounded by mountains) - The Kancamagus Highway is a stunning drive connecting Conway and Lincoln, NH. There are many scenic overlooks to stop at and take in the beauty of the area, especially in Fall. Without traffic, it takes about 2 hours round trip to complete, BUT September-October is the high season and there will be a lot of traffic on this one-lane highway. We still think it would be worth checking out at least part of it, but make sure you're back in time for the festivities on Saturday at 5PM ;)
