Kyra and Jack’s story began at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School. Though they knew of each other, they didn’t truly connect until two of Kyra’s friends encouraged her to send Jack a simple “hi” on Snapchat. Not long after, fate paired them together for a quiz in their freshman English class, though both were far too nervous to say much. That summer, they exchanged small conversations here and there, but it wasn’t until Kyra’s mom and her friend Reegan gave her another push to text Jack, that their story really started. True to their shy personalities, most of their early “talking” was done through long Snapchat videos back and forth rather than in-person conversations at school. But finally, during the last week before winter break of their sophomore year, they built up the courage to talk face-to-face. At the time, they both assumed the other only saw them as friends. They even planned a hangout around Jack playing basketball with Kyra’s brother, Henry. That same day, Jack treated Kyra to Culver’s “as friends,” and the two laughed while scrolling through old Facebook pictures of them as kids. Just a few days later, another hangout was planned and from there, the rest is history. Over the last six years, Kyra and Jack have shared countless memories. They went to every high school dance together starting with sophomore year Turnabout, began dating just before the world shut down, celebrated both high school and college graduations side by side, and made traditions of trips to Chicago for Jack’s birthday or their anniversary. Together, they’ve visited LegoLand, Disney World, and even road-tripped with friends to Vero Beach, Florida. Beyond the big adventures, their favorite memories are often the simple ones, coffee dates, ice cream runs, Target trips, concerts, puzzles and board games, picnics in Veterans Park, and more shared laughter than they can count. Now, as they step into the next chapter, Kyra and Jack are so excited to spend their lives together, continuing to create memories and fill their story with joy.
