Davis and I met in college through mutual friends, although it wasn't "love at first sight", we became close rather quickly. Throughout the rest of college, we remained close and talked everyday and we eventually fell for each other. I fell in love with my best friend and it's the best thing to ever happen to me!

Davis treated me to a weekend getaway in his favorite place in the world, Oceanside, OR. The Oregon coast is notorious for wind and rain no matter the season, and the forecast leading up to our trip was no different -- 100% chance of rain the entire weekend. Incredibly, we woke up on Saturday morning to crystal-clear blue skies. After a morning walk on the beach, coffee and hot-cocoa in hand, we headed up a few miles north to the Cape Meares Lighthouse. Knowing how much I love lighthouses, Davis then asked me to marry him while we were walking on the path near the cliff sides by the lighthouse, overlooking the coastline. Oceanside has always held a special place in his heart -- and now it holds a special place in mine.
