His Story

Kyra and I had an unexpected, movie love story. We first met through Cairo's godfather Twan, my childhood friend and her college best friend. When we met, I never intended to fall in love. She was dealing with someone, I was caught up on someone old but we both were not tied down. When Twan and I became roommates at the end of the year, Kyra and I slowly became inseparable. She was often labeled 'one of the guys' because of how cool she was with my friends and Twan's friends so she was around a lot. I came to find out from Twan that Kyra was attracted to me. Her being Twan's best friend always kept me hesistant to pursue her. Then the more we hung out, the less I cared about that. Kyra showed me early on she had all the qualities I wanted in a wife. Beauty, goals, pure heart, and list goes on. We nearly spent everyday together. Then everyday turned into every night. Then it became hard to be away from her. We basically lived together for a whole year. I finally made the decision to not live in the moment anymore with her. I wanted her for life! I asked her to be my girlfriend in 2020 and she said yes. By the grace of God, 4 years later we are happier than ever to officially become a unit. She's been my forever and now we take into a new life as one. I love you forever and always honey!

Her Story

Shortly after Twan and I became best friends, I became the "little sister" that tagged along to all of the moves with the boys. I met Myles in 2018 on the UNC basketball court. We had a general conversation and he was just really nice. At that point, I would mainly see him on his campus, when he came to visit Twan's dorm, or when we would cook at his apartment (I taught him how to fry chicken). We randomly started getting closer as friends, eventually texting on our own. He invited me over one day to show off his chicken frying skills (he burnt the first batch) and we watched Steve Harvey standup. April 2019, we were at his friend's birthday party and he walked me to his car and asked, "What are we doing?" (If you've ever heard me tell this story, you know the voice I made). Of course he waited til I had to go home to Michigan for the summer to ask that but nonetheless, we talked everyday that summer until I came back to North Carolina! When I returned in August we were together literally EVERYDAY. My mom wondered if I ever checked on my apartment and my friends always laughed, saying that my place was my vacation home. Fast forward to quarantine when everything was closed and all we had was time, movies, and learning how to cook. In that time, I had come to realize how attentive and caring he really was. He was funny, sweet, and really made me understand what "home in a person" really meant. May 16th, 2020, on a beautiful Carolina morning, he asked me to be his girlfriend and ever since then I've been living in answered prayers.
