HOW WE MET Our story began in 2017, during our freshman year at the College of Idaho. The very first time we met was in our dorm’s study room. Ky was drawing on the whiteboard, and Wes saw his chance to make a move. He attempted to flirt, but let’s just say it didn’t quite go as planned. From the beginning a strong friendship formed. Over the years, we stayed close thanks to our shared experiences playing softball and baseball for the College of Idaho. FROM FRIENDS TO SOMETHING MORE By senior year, we had become each other’s wingman. We both tried to help the other find someone, and the plan often started with a stop at our favorite local bar, The Goose. One night, after a few drinks and a lot of laughter, the bartender came by to announce last call. Just as the night was winding down, Wes leaned in and kissed Ky. That moment changed everything. The next morning, Wes went to his roommates and told them, “That’s going to be my wife.” BUILDING A LIFE TOGETHER Over the next five years, our relationship grew stronger with every chapter. We got a dog, Kodak. We moved in together during college and later navigated long distance after graduation. Eventually, Ky moved to Seattle, and together they called it home for nearly three years. We have grown together through seasons of change, challenges, and celebrations, always knowing that marriage was part of our future. THE PROPOSAL Even though we had talked about spending our lives together, Wes wanted the proposal to be a complete surprise. For six months, he secretly worked with Ky’s best friend Bryce and her mom to plan something unforgettable. The plan was set under the idea that they would be celebrating Ky’s recent graduation with her master’s degree that weekend. Friends and family traveled in to be part of the surprise. That afternoon, Wes took Ky golfing with her brother Cody, and his girlfriend. On the 18th hole, overlooking the lake and mountains at the country club where they will be getting married, Wes got down on one knee and proposed to Ky with the diamond that her Nana, Gaga, and Mom each had worn; making it that much more special! As Ky said yes, friends and family emerged from the trees nearby to celebrate . The evening continued with a surprise gathering at Ky’s grandparents’ home, surrounded by the people who mean the most. LOOKING AHEAD We are so excited to begin this next chapter and can’t wait to celebrate our wedding day with all of you at the place where Wes proposed. Thank you for being part of our story!!
