Our Love Story!

God has been writing our story long before we ever knew it. We met the summer before sixth grade at a movie with mutual friends, and through middle school we built a sweet friendship through little league, travel ball, and our families becoming close. In eighth grade, we held hands the entire plane ride home from our D.C. trip, even though we didn’t “like” each other yet. All through high school, we stayed close—navigating friendships, crushes, and school dances. We built an incredible foundation of friendship that, little did we know, we would eventually build a life on. At the start of senior year, our families took a Labor Day Weekend COVID trip to Big Bear, where years of friendship and flirting finally led to a kiss. After a few months (and forcing some of Trevor’s friends to third-wheel our dates), we told our parents… who were somehow not surprised. On October 28, Trevor asked me to be his girlfriend at Flappy Jacks (RIP). We spent senior year doing all the fun things—COVID prom, peppermint milkshakes, and lots of Trevor-planned dates. When I left for TCU, we broke up to honor the promise I’d made to my parents about long distance… and got back together a week later. Oops. So, long distance began. We supported each other through CBU Water Polo, TCU Showgirls, and becoming young adults states apart. It wasn’t ever easy, but it was always worth it. We made incredible memories, great friends, flew between Texas and California, survived my camp summers, and honestly crushed long distance. We are so grateful for the lessons we learned and the opportunities for individual and collective growth that being 1000 miles apart presented, but MAN were we ready when it was over! In December 2024, Trevor graduated from CBU! During his graduation, we reflected on all we had been through and gotten to witness growing up together and navigating college together. What a blessing! Trevor moved to Texas for chiropractor school, and we enjoyed (and continue to enjoy) every second of not living a plane ride apart. Getting to live in the same state again deepened our relationship and confirmed what we already knew: we are each other’s person. After I graduated from TCU in May and started working at Grace Church Lake Highlands, Trevor continued being my biggest supporter—while I continued asking when he’d propose. He told me to chill and let him plan it… He planned the heck out of it. On December 6, 2025, he completely shocked me by getting down on one knee. I responded with a resounding “YES!” and we spent the day chasing a dog (if you know, you know) and celebrating our love. Our engagement party was pure joy, but we know that the best is yet to come… Now, let’s get married!
