Love Story

Our journey began in high school in Columbus, Georgia, where we first met during our sophomore year. What started as a friendship soon deepened as we spent more time together. In 2020, we began to grow even closer, and our first official date—fittingly—was on Valentine’s Day. Not long after, the pandemic hit, and like everyone else, we had to adjust. With everything moving online, we spent a lot of time on the phone—talking, laughing, and getting to know each other in a different way. It wasn’t the most traditional start to a relationship, but it brought us closer. When it came time for college, we started a long-distance chapter. While we were in different places, it gave us the chance to learn how to support each other from afar, grow as individuals, and stay connected in meaningful ways. We made the most of our time apart and always looked forward to the moments we got to be in the same place. Eventually, Kylie moved to Atlanta to be closer to Miguel, and we were finally back in the same city again. Now, five years later, we look back on everything we’ve shared—trips, concerts, milestones, and moments of growth. We are so excited to continue this journey together, and we are honored to celebrate this next chapter with the people who mean the most to us.

The Proposal

02.13.2024

In February 2024, we packed our bags and took a trip to Puerto Rico—a mix of vacation and a meaningful visit to spend time with some of Miguel’s family. It was Kylie’s first time meeting them, and we spent the week hiking, snorkeling, dancing, exploring, and making unforgettable memories with people who mean so much to us. It quickly became one of the best weeks of our lives. To end the trip on a high note, we planned a short getaway to the island of Culebra. On February 13th, we took a 3 a.m. ferry and arrived as the island was just waking up. With the sun rising and roosters wandering the streets, we explored until we could rent an ATV and head to the beach. After a full day of relaxing by the water, we got ready for dinner. Just before heading out, Miguel suggested a quick ride down to the beach to catch the sunset and take a few photos. After some time together on Playa Flameco, Miguel turned to Kylie, reached into his pocket, and dropped to one knee. Kylie was completely caught off guard. Then came the happy tears, laughter, and of course, a very excited “yes.” It was a private, emotional moment on one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen—Just the two of us, on a quiet beach at sunset, starting a new chapter together.
