The first time they met, it was back in college and Jake was with his now groomsmen, Zain and Kylie was with her now Maid of Honor, Maddy. They exchanged a few words and then that was it. About 2 years later, at Caffe Expresso, where they are both "regulars", Jake was in front of Kylie at the drive-thru, and their good friend, Dave, who was working that busy morning, had told them both that he wanted to set them up... So then they ALMOST went on a date, but never did. Fast forward almost exactly a year, and now bridesmaid, Steph, invited Kylie on a friends trip to Napa Valley about a week prior, and she was in! On the trip, it only took about 12 hours before Jake and Kylie became inseparable. You can ask all their friends, they were attached at the hip on the entire trip and just laughed the whole time and say the trip ended way too fast. Kylie always says once it clicked, she just knew. She immediately was in love with Jake and after the trip she told every single person (yes, literally everyone) that Jake was it! Jake immediately had feelings for her as well and that was the beginning of their love story. Jake and Kylie have been inseparable ever since. They spend nearly every day together and never get sick of it! They now love to go out and have long dinners together, they love hiking with their puppy, Piper, they love to spend time with their friends and family together, they love to travel together and they're pretty much a package deal anywhere they go. They are so excited to spend every day of their life together and to celebrate the start of a new chapter with all of the people they love. Jake and Kylie are soulmates and can't wait to tie the knot!
Jake's Story: In June of 2020 I knew exactly how I wanted to propose to Kylie. We hadn't traveled due to the pandemic but we both agreed that we wanted to make a trip to the Oregon Coast no matter what. This being one of our favorite places I knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity to propose. I reached out to some of our closest friends to help pull off one of the most important surprises of my life. They all bought flights in secret and acted like they had no idea when we told them we were going on a trip to Oregon. Flash forward to October and it was finally time for our trip. We flew in late Wednesday night and stayed the night in Portland. The following day we had a beautiful scenic drive out to the coast. We talked and listened to music and just enjoyed being with one another. We pulled up Arch Cape and decided to go for a walk. Once we found the perfect place I dropped to my knee and asked Kylie to marry me. Kylie's Story: It started as the most perfect day. We stayed the night in Portland and were planning to have a leisurely morning and head out to the coast. I don't know if it was the fact that it was our first trip in a while, or just that deep down I knew something was coming... but we had the BEST morning. I just remember getting breakfast at a small cafe, and being so happy just to be together. Then we took the scenic route out to the Oregon Coast and went on a hunt for some Fish n Chips, and found some of the best! Then we drove out to Arch Cape to take pictures (I thought...) and that's when Jake dropped on one knee and asked me to marry him. I can't really explain the happiness I felt in that moment but I never wanted it to end. I was, and still am, so ecstatic to marry Jake. He surprised me with some of our best friends (now bridesmaids) Karsen, Megan and Steph (and Kacey) all flew out for our special weekend and we all got to celebrate. Everything was absolutely perfect and I couldn't imagine anyone else by my side.
