FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kylie Powers and D'Vonte Washburn
Question

Do I have to RSVP online?

Answer

We would strongly prefer for you to RSVP on this site, as it makes it easier for us to see who is attending from our online guest list. Please get in contact with us if you have any issues.

Question

What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by March 31, 2023.

Question

Is there parking near your venue?

Answer

There is ample parking around the building. For those who come early, FCC has a lot behind the church (enter from The Crescent.) When that is full there is street parking, a municipal lot and a multi-level parking deck up the street. There also is overflow parking at the corner of Plymouth and Trinity place in the Academy Square Parking lot.

Question

Are there are colors we shouldn't wear?

Answer

Needless to say, if you wear white, you're getting tossed out by a 6-foot member of the Powers clan. Additionally, please avoid darker shades of blue and emerald green as those are reserved for the bridal party. Anything else, have at it!

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to the cap of 85 people in the church, we strongly advise against bringing a plus one. Exceptions can be made but please contact either Kylie or D'Vonte.

Question

Am I allowed to bring our children?

Answer

TBD.

Question

What kind of food are you serving?

Answer

Brunch-style Hor dourves with beverages, champagne, Bloody Marys and mimosas.

Question

When should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at least thirty minutes prior as we will have a live musician playing music before the ceremony begins. Please also note arriving a few minutes early may help when it comes to finding a parking spot.

Question

Could you suggest places to eat, drink and see while I am in town for your wedding?

Answer

Montclair is very close to New York City, approximately a 30-minute train ride. Our town is also full of amazing restaurants if you want to stay local. Our favorites include Kai Yang, Zeugma Grill, Cafe Giotto, Samba Montclair, Sweet Kitchen, and Ani Ramen. The Pharmacie is our favorite cocktail bar. For lodging and travel, please see the travel tab.

Question

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

Answer

Please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. We will let the professional photographer handle that. After the ceremony, feel to grab one or both of us for personal photos.

Question

Will there be an open bar or any kind of alcohol besides wine or champagne?

Answer

We will only be serving wine, champagne, Bloody Marys and mimosas.

Question

Why is there not going to be a reception?

Answer

We decided to have an intimate, lowkey day instead of a party or traditional reception afterward to focus on each other and our loved ones. Thank you for understanding, and we can't wait to see you all on our big day!

Question

Is there a registry?

Answer

Instead of a registry, we ask our guests donate to the following charities that are near and dear to our hearts: -Healing the Children -Mustard Seed Communities -Andrew Goodman Foundation -S.O.F.I.A. of Montclair -Best Friends Animal Society -That Others May Live Foundation
