we’re getting married!

It all started back in 2015 in Boone, NC at Appalachian State. On the first day of psychology class in their first semester, Kyle and Suz were randomly paired in a group chat. Naturally, they didn't speak to each other for the rest of the semester—until fate intervened in a dorm doorway early next semester. Suz was headed out for the night, and Kyle was headed to do laundry. Suz caught a glimpse of him and hoped he’d change his mind about staying in; luckily, he ditched the chores, and they spent the whole night dancing and talking. Kyle asked Suz on their first official date to Our Daily Bread in early 2016, and by March 14, 2016, it was official. Since then, they’ve tackled life side-by-side: graduating from App State, traveling the world, getting their dog Sookie, earning their Master’s degrees, and buying their first home. A decade after they first met, the story came full circle in the Blue Ridge Mountains. On December 21, 2025, while sitting on a porch in Asheville with a beer in hand and the sun setting over the peaks, Kyle asked Suz to marry him. It was the easiest "yes" ever. We’re so excited to celebrate our wedding weekend in the Blue Ridge Mountains at Serenity Ridge—surrounded by our favorite people, great food, and a whole lot of dancing.
