Kyler and Michaela were introduced by a mutual friend in October of 2012. Michaela was living in Bloomington/Normal, IL and attending Illinois State University and Kyler was living in Naperville, IL and attending North Central College. Their original place of meeting was at a Bassnectar concert [ha ha]. They immediately hit it off so Kyler returned two weeks later to take Michaela on a proper date. Soon after this date, Kyler said, "I'm going to marry this girl" and with persistence, won her over.

Kyler planned a romantic picnic on a Sunday afternoon in downtown Naperville. What Michaela did not know, is that her friend was hiding in the bushes nearby to take pictures and Kyler was going to propose. After Michaela obviously said "yes," their closest friends and family joined together for a BBQ at Kyler's mom and stepdad's home.
