Philly's best haunted house, enter if you dare! Eastern State Penitentiary was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world, but stands today in ruin, a haunting world of crumbling cellblocks and empty guard towers. Its vaulted, sky-lit cells once held many of America's most notorious lawbreakers, including "Slick Willie" Sutton and "Scarface" Al Capone. We recommend buying tickets in advance!
Grab dinner before our welcome drinks begin in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia. Home to some of the best up-and-coming restaurants and hidden bars in the city, it's also a within walking distance of Philadelphia Brewing Co. While there's no shortage of places to check out, we recommend: Pizzeria Beddia (casual/hip), Frankford Hall (casual/beer garden), Fette Sau (casual/BBQ), Suraya (upscale Lebanese cafe), Wm. Mulherin's Sons (Italian with great outdoor seating) Note: reservations recommended!
Our welcome drinks start here at 8pm, but the brewery is open to the public all night. They have a great outdoor space if you want to come early and grab a drink (or two)
Warm up those dancing feet with a 4-mile jog around Philly. All paces welcome, but everyone has to run the Rocky Steps. Kyler will meet the group in the lobby of the Fairfield or on the sidewalk outside.
Just when you least expect it... Philly's got class. There are several world class art museums within walking distance from our hotel block: The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Rodin Museum, and the Barnes Foundation, which is home to an impressive collection of impressionist, post-impressionist and modern art.
Our wedding and reception location is also a public park and community garden. Arrive early to explore the grounds, take a boat out on the Schuylkill River (free daily 10am-2pm), and more. The visitor's center is open daily from 9am-4pm.
