In early 2025, both of us experienced deep surrender to Jesus. Before Christ, we searched for fulfillment in ways that pulled us further from who God created us to be. We chased temporary things to give life, but they never truly did. For Denae, that season looked like seeking love in relationships and habits instead of from God. Through His mercy, she felt called to leave behind her lifestyle and abide in true identity. What once felt normal no longer felt life-giving. As part of that surrender, she believed she needed to remove Hinge, the dating app. But before pressing delete, one final message appeared. Kylen had kindly pointed out a typo on her profile where it accidentally said she was “not marriage minded” when she actually meant the opposite. What started as a simple correction quickly became the beginning of something neither expected. Just before this, God was doing a similar work in Kylen’s life. After years of living recklessly apart from God, he too encountered Jesus. Through prayer he began asking the Lord for pruning to seek Him first. Though he had planned to leave dating apps behind as well, he felt led to give it one final chance… and came across Denae’s profile and the typo that started it all. … As unconventional as our story seems, there’s a sweet peace hearing the Holy Spirit say “yes”. Jesus used surrender and His GRACE to bring us together at exactly the right time. On June 22, 2026, we will become one under a covenant. Above all, we ask for prayer that our marriage would reflect and glorify Him as designed. That we will honor His will above our own plans.
