Walk from the hotel down to the riverfront, where you can run, walk or bike along the Ohio River. Along the waterfront you'll pass the Bengals and Reds stadiums, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center (check out a piece of the Berlin Wall directly in front - the museum is worth a stop too if you have time!), Christian Morelein Lager House and Smale Riverfront Park. The Purple People Bridge is a pedestrian bridge connecting Cincinnati to Newport, KY, and if the blue suspension bridge in front of the Freedom Center looks familiar, it's because it was designed and constructed by Roebling before he built the Brooklyn Bridge.
One of the largest, intact urban historic districts in the US, Over-the-Rhine has recently been revitalized with amazing shops, restaurants, bars and breweries. Spend some time in Washington Park, grab a donut from Holtman's, and explore what this neighborhood has to offer. If you're hungry, Abigail Street, The Eagle, Salazar and The Senate are all great choices. Thirsty? Taft's Ale House, Sundry & Vice, Japp's or 1215 Wine Bar and Coffee Lab are sure to quench your thirst.
We love BBQ. This is some of the best pulled pork you'll ever eat.
Emily loves it, Kyle not so much, but no visit to Cincinnati is complete without trying Cincinnati chili. Try a 3- 4- or 5-way and/or a cheese coney at Skyline (2 locations within walking distance of the hotels), or go old school and visit Camp Washington Chili or Dixie Chili.
If you're staying at the 21c (or even if you're not) definitely check out Metropole, one of our favorite restaurants in Cincinnati. Be sure to see the art in the adjoining galleries before or after your meal!
Delicious burgers in a quirky, neon-filled space.
Each year on Memorial Day Weekend, Cincinnati's largest food festival takes place downtown, and it's free to check out! Walk the streets sampling the city's best. Some of our favorites? Andy's Mediterranean Grill, Busken Bakery, Eli's BBQ, MadTree Brewing and Pompilio's.
