Wedding Party

Meet our family friends who we are so honored to have walk down the aisle with us!

Caitlin Atlee

Maid of Honor

Katie is one of the most special people in my life!We met teaching & while we’re not on the same campus anymore, I found a friend for life. She has been my partner in crime—we have spent hours talking about life, love(or lack thereof),& everything in between. I’ve never been more myself with a girlfriend & I’ve never felt more joy watching a friend find her ultimate happiness. There isn’t a better match for Katie than Kyle & I have no doubt they will continue to grow together. They have so much in common, but are just different enough to keep it interesting. Katie is a strong, intelligent, energetic woman. My advice is for everyone to keep their seatbelts on at all times! If anyone can handle it, Kyle can. I am thrilled to see what the future brings! You deserve every happiness! -Caitlin

Andrew Brandon

Best Man

I'm assuming that the best memory of Kyle and me has to be something that is fit for a general audience to read.....In that case, I'll go with my best memory as being of the two of us tramping around Europe for three weeks after we graduated from college. -Andrew

Erin Atwood

Bridesmaid

Katie & I taught together & were mostly acquaintances at first. After a couple years of hanging out in groups, we decided to have our first 1-on-1.Never did I expect that we would spend HOURS eating Mexican, drinking margs, & nerding out over work due to our type A work personalities. I’m pretty sure we only talked about school stuff that night & neither one of us were ever bored. We became fast friends & haven’t looked back! Katie is the friend you can always depend on for advice, for teaching tips, for girl talk, for drinking, for reality tv watching, for game nights, for more drinking, & just being the friend that you need. We’ve both been through ups & downs but our friendship has never wavered. I am so blessed to stand next to Katie as she begins this new chapter of her life. -Erin

Andres Cardona

Groomsman

When I think about what is the best & funniest memory I have with Kyle... so many come to mind & some that should not come to mind about our crazy Baton Rouge Days! One of my best memories though is when we would be playing Call of Duty online and then deciding to go to the gun range. Yeah from gaming to “real life”. When we would go to the range, we would make up these elaborate stories of what we were doing in the house when all of the sudden someone broke in. We would then demonstrate our awesome aim at the target assuming it was the intruder. The best part is that the end of the story was us returning to doing what we were doing prior. Trust me these stories got creative! If you want a good laugh ask Kyle to tell you an example of what would happen in those scenarios! -Andres

Lauren Williams

Bridesmaid

Katie and I met while teaching at Tompkins and immediately became fast friends! Whether it’s tag teaming an assembly line simulation in class, surviving PD, or a weekend trip to New Orleans with our Dream Team, we always have a great time. Katie is also responsible for helping me find a church in Texas, which I thoroughly enjoy attending with her and Kyle! For a while, Katie and I would do mimosa Sundays. She would come over with champagne, we would make brunch, then we would drink mimosas and watch PBS Masterpiece Theatre. That morphed into Women’s Rights Wednesdays where we would enjoy our beverages with Betty Friedan and Gloria Steinem on Mrs. America. Those Sundays and Wednesdays were some of the best days of my week filled with laughter, learning, and a whole lot of love! -Lauren

Matt Hammond

Groomsman

Kyle and I lived around the corner from each other and worked together in Louisiana for some 5+ years. I’ll narrow down our best memories to the top 5: 1. Discovering off menu shrimp bienville at Sammys 2. Half price after 8 shakes at Sonic 3. Speed eating crawfish to pack away the most pounds 4. Trying every Calandro’s King Cake flavor 5. Driving to NOLA when the 1st Costco opened up in the state. $1.50 all beef hotdog & soda! -Matt

Sarah Solorzano

Bridesmaid

I am the 1st cousin Katie ever had & I’m 8 months older than her. Our families were really close and have always spent lots of time together! Some of my favorite memories were family reunions, the adventures out in the pasture, & the high dive at the swimming pool. We have also had our conflicts in the past over stuff like, coloring pages, games, sports, & other little things that cousins compete about. Although we don’t live close, I would say that our adult relationship is better than when we were kids competing against each other. But, I had to be better than a girl with an eye patch for her lazy eye! JK I love you cousin & am very proud of your accomplishments & wish you & Kyle the very best! -Sarah

Michael Roy

Groomsman

So many memories to choose from - happy hour at Port Royal, Beach Trip, LSU games, Chicago trip & establishing a trivia powerhouse in 2 different cities. Picking just 1 memory is hard because it is a friendship of over 10 years. Of all them, there is 1 that is just so nice. Kyle's mom came to visit when he was still in Baton Rouge. Kyle called & we met in NOLA to go to the Krewe du Vieux parade that kicks off Mardi Gras. We started at Lafitte's Landing, watched the parade & had dinner. Much of the night consisted of Kyle & my wife, Kali, trading barbs over Arizona & Arizona St. You can guess what side Kyle was on. When I first met Katie I could tell this was something special & meant to be because like so many of the other memories with Kyle, everything just seemed so much at ease. -Mike

Kymmi Jirasek

Bridesmaid

Katie’s life changed forever in the Fall of 1989 when her feisty, red-headed, cousin Kymmi was born. I would like to think it changed for the better, but there were some years long ago that we were sworn enemies who fought over very important things such as attention and who got to sit in the captain’s chair in the van. Sometime along the way, maturity and cooler heads prevailed and we turned that rivalry into a mutual love and respect that still remains today (except when UT plays Texas Tech, then all bets are off). These days we agree on most things like mimosas, Hallmark movies at Christmas, and how much Kyle loves Katie. Can’t wait for them to get their life started together! -Kymmi

Louis Lowe V

Groomsman

I am Katie's 1st younger brother & I have to say that Kyle & Katie are perfect for each other! Y'all need to know how often Katie mishears music lyrics. There are too many examples to count, but she often mixes up lyrics & her explanations are priceless. A story comes to mind and, well, Kyle apparently has the same problem. He had been singing the CLASSIC Queen song “Bohemian Rhapsody” incorrectly for years. The opening lyric is “Mamma, just killed a man…” but Kyle thought this entire song was from the mother’s perspective i.e. “Mama just killed a man...” Katie of all people corrected him & our family could not believe it. For her to correct this highly-intelligent man on such an iconic song was hilarious! They have such great chemistry & I am thrilled my big sister has found him. -Louis

Marissa Jacob

Bridesmaid

It is a difficult task to pick a favorite story about Kyle & our shenanigans together, but isn’t that what it’s like when you think of your relationship with your best friend? We describe ourselves as a “megaperson”, since we can usually know what the other is thinking & finish each other’s sentences. In high school, this connection ran so deep that I was able to prevent a teacher from calling the cops when we heard a LOUD explosion. There was panic that a bomb went off, but I knew right away that we need not worry. I knew it was Kyle & figured he blew something up with supplies the chemistry teacher let him have. Turns out he launched a trashcan 50 feet in the air outside the chemistry room. When I told him I knew it was him, we looked at each other &exclaimed, “MEGAPERSON” -Marissa

Ryan Lowe

Groomsman

My favorite memory of growing up with Katie is probably when she would get in trouble with the parents and would wake me up to clean the kitchen so she could get back on on their good side. That or really just all the absolutely preposterous things that came out of her mouth. -Ryan

Flower Girl

Abigail is 4 years old and the daughter of Kyle's Best Man, Andrew, and his wife, Jamie. Abigail loves Cookie Dough Ice cream and ribs. Her favorite movie is "The Little Mermaid" and her favorite books are the Charlie Brown/Peanuts 5 minute stories. Abigail wants to be a butterfly when she grows up! :)

Eli Solorzano

Ring Bearer

Eli is 7 years old and is Katie's Godson. He is the son of Katie's cousin and bridesmaid, Sarah and her husband, Jesse. Eli loves ice cream and his favorite subject is spelling. He wants to be a scientist when he grows up!

Campbell Jirasek
