You would think a nurse and a physical therapist would meet at work, right? Perhaps a random bar in Portland? Or through mutual friends? Wrong. In this age of technology, "the apps" were our fate. Shared "adventure-y” photos caught each of our eyes. While a misplaced photo with a beanie almost ruined the meet-cute (“you are only as attractive as your ugliest photo”- Peter), a date was set in Wilsonville at McMenamins. As Peter puts it, “she took off her mask and I knew I was staying for dinner, not just a beer”. Kyleigh likes to think it was her personality but who's to say? Regardless, the connection was unstoppable. Instead of a quick follow-up date though, Kyleigh left for a two week trip with little cell service. Distance made our hearts grow fonder. The months to follow were filled with shared time in nature: hiking, biking, fishing, backpacking, camping and running. The opportunity to enjoy the outdoors together forever became reality when Peter asked Kyleigh to marry him on top of Tumalo Mountain. May the adventure continue...
