Dress attire is casual and whatever you are most comfortable in (e.g. sun dress and sandals, shorts and shirt, pants and shirt)
The welcome beach party on Saturday night will have a full dinner – Mexican Buffet. You can always still go to another restaurant afterwards if you would like as well, but no need to eat prior. There will be tables, music, 2 full bars and some extra fun things too.
Our service will be in a garden at 4:45pm. We are asking men to wear pants and dress shirts and shoes. (No flip flops) And women any nice destination/resort dress or outfit. -Our dance and dinner after will be in the ballroom, so will be air conditioned.
For any wedding gifts, we are asking you to not bring anything to Mexico. For security reasons, we kindly ask for all cards/gifts to be mailed to: 320 Middlesex Ave Unit C108 Medford, MA 02155 https://www.zola.com/wedding/kyleeandtate/registry
Once through customs, grab your bag, go out the doors and head outside. You could get stopped randomly to have your bag checked. This is easy and quick. Once passed, do not stop to talk about transfers or taxi’s with the people trying to engage you until you are outside. Once outside, you will see AMStar reps with blue flowered shirts holding up a sign for the wedding, or if not in the group, you can seek them out for your individual transfer. They will take you to the bus or car and get you to the hotel. *For drivers of our transfers, please be prepared for tipping – we will have one person help organize/collect on each bus.
When we arrive to the hotel we will have a private check-in that you will be directed to if you are on the Chicago flights. Others, depending on your arrival time, may use the main desk. However, for check out, everyone will need to go to the main desk and will need a check out slip from the main desk in order to leave the resort. Since a large group will be shuttling together on Wednesday and Thursday, keep that in mind to ensure you give yourself time to check out. You can also call a bellman to pick up your luggage that morning as well, but don’t have to.
Those on the Frontier flight back to Chicago, will all also return to the airport on your last day together on a bus. AMStar will either email you the time of departure from the resort, or will announce on your bus on the way to the hotel. If you forget, or don’t get it on the ride to the resort, you can go to the AMStar hospitality desk and ask what time your return is. Anyone not on the Chicago bus can go to the AMStart hospitality desk as well. *Reminder - you have to check out prior to the transfer from the resort to the airport, so make sure to give yourself time on the morning of departure to get your required checkout slip.
We would recommend downloading the Hyatt Inclusive Collection App. This has everything you need to know about the resort and will make your stay much easier to navigate. You can download the app today and get familiar with the hotel! Once downloaded just select Dream Playa Mujeres.
Restaurants do not take reservations. Some will be busier than others so waits may vary. If you are over 18 you can eat at any of the restaurants at Secrets as well. Remember the hotels are connected, but Secrets is adults only. -The buffet is also open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. -And your room offers 24 hour room service. https://www.amrcollection.com/en/resorts-hotels/dreams/mexico/playa-mujeres-golf-spa-resort/dining-drinks/?gclid=Cj0KCQiArsefBhCbARIsAP98hXSCaiLYFJUcqk-rKS04sQG4AoI5uOYsnJT7q2ewYLgYw3JaGJtvBnkaAtrOEALw_wcB
There are no reservations at the restaurants and they can get busy. Always good to check-in for dinner to see the wait time. They will give you a buzzer and you can go to the lobby for a drink and wait.
Many of the restaurants do require pants for adult men at dinner. You can check attire requirements on the app when you click on the various restaurants. Note, this will also list the days and hours of operation of each restaurant as well. Everyday one restaurant closes. You don’t want to miss out on some incredible dining because you forgot to pack pants.
There is an amazing lobby bar that we are encouraging everyone to go to before and after dinner. We plan on being there every night. There is also a disco in Dreams (Spin). It starts out as a sports bar and around 10 or 11pm adults only DJ. We are trying to work with the hotel on the music choices for everyone!
There is a fun waterpark and lazy river at Dreams. The waterpark is for everyone, but the lazy river is technically for the Preferred Club only. No one in our group booked the Preferred Club, which provides the lazy river, a special lounge and some exclusive sections on the beach. However, there is really no one policing the lazy river so you should have no issues using it if you'd like. And if asked, just say you are Preferred Club.
The Secrets hotel is connected to Dreams and it is adults only. If you want to dine there (amazing Italian restaurant) the best way to do that is take the lobby golf cart between the hotels. The front desk will direct you to that location. If you are just wandering between pools there is a cement path closer to the beach that is easy to walk and we did that during the day.
We recommend you book at the hotel upon arrival. The ground handler AMStar has desk hours for the excursions and the golf is booked direct with the hotel. The most popular one for the area we are staying in is the snorkel & day at Isla Mujeres. Here is the website of all the tours. https://www.amstardmc.com/en/excursion-main/ It is close and we have done it as well, it is a fun day. Some of the excursions can be a very long bus ride to get to and AMStar will share that when you meet with them. -For golf, please contact the hotel directly for green fees and club rentals. Tee times can be reserved using this link https://www.amrcollection.com/en/resorts-hotels/dreams/mexico/playa-mujeres-golf-spa-resort/activities/golf-form/?_ga=2.100705345.1321893444.1676934433-1418339506.1674428356&_gac=1.228877166.1676934512.CjwKCAiA0cyfBhBREiwAAtStHBj9HXXbJkHHPJsT1joh3CeswjJeOaO2UQO5qk8JdZJ_D98dZdulpBoCENQQAvD_BwE -As far as schedule: Tuesday after the wedding and Wednesday for those still there are the best days for excursions. We have wedding activities planned Sat-Mon. Saturday the welcome beach party will start at 6 pm, so if you go golfing or do an excursion that day just keep that in mind. Sunday during the day is the pool party and Monday is the wedding.
For those doing excursions you can go to the AMStar hospitality desk as well to book onsite. They are offering a 10% discount for tours. We recommend going on your first days to get that booked and set up. *This is not for Golf, you would get instructions for that directly with the hotel.
Below are a few instances where tipping is encouraged: o Shuttle Service to and from hotel (for those traveling fri/sat from Chicago on the group shuttle, we will be passing around a tip jar. We kindly ask each person contribute a couple bucks for our drivers) o Maid Service o Breakfast and Lunch buffet o Dinners o Bellman o Bartenders o While tipping is never required, it is very appreciated and important to the personal lives of the workers as they make very little wages. The key is to bring smaller bills, lots of $1 and some $5. The hotel can give change sometimes, but you don’t want to count on that.
Make sure to check your phone's international plan. We have AT&T and in our plan Mexico is free for data and international calling. If you don’t have that coverage you will want to be in airplane mode when you land and then you will get free wifi at the hotel.

In your rooms there is a steamer vs iron & works great. Also here is a tour of all you need to know about your room. There is 24 hour room service you can order right from your ipad in the room. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5talKxAtTo
a. Some are driving the day of and some staying over the night prior and doing park-n-stays with a hotel by the airport. We have heard Wyndham, Loews and Holiday Inn thus far. Each hotels offer is different and there was a limited number park-n-stay discounts on your e-documents you received. The instructions were included. b. If you park at O-Hare the off-site parking lots are cheaper and many require advance reservation.
