We met through school—him a junior, me a freshman who was completely convinced he was the man of my dreams. What started as a simple connection turned into an instant bond. There was never really an awkward phase—just an easy, natural connection that felt like we had always known each other. We spent a lot of time together just talking and going on drives, getting to know each other in the simplest but most meaningful ways. Even before we officially started dating, we were already inseparable in our own way. One of our favorite memories from that time was when he came over to carve pumpkins with me and my friends… and ended up being recruited by my dad to move boxes for fun. Not long after, when we first started dating, my dad “tested” him again and told Marcel to go inside a dog kennel for some cash—and he still wasn’t scared away. That’s when I knew he was different. Over time, we went from best friends to something even deeper. We laugh at the same things, share the same values, and somehow always know what the other is thinking without saying a word. To us, marriage isn’t just a label—it’s a reflection of everything we’ve already been through together. It means we’ve proven we can face anything side by side, through thick and thin. And we can’t wait for forever :)
