Kylee and Hector first met in their ROTC program at the University of Dubuque in Iowa. When Kylee first met Hector, she was immediately drawn to him because of his presence, intellect, and goofy nature. When he finally asked her on a date, she arrived at his home to find that he had cooked a beautiful dinner for them, and had arranged for his roommate to drive them to the Copper Kettle (which ended up being their favorite restaurant in Dubuque!) for after dinner drinks. He was the epitome of a gentleman and she was, and still continues to be, amazed by his thoughtfulness and kindness. They talked for hours that night (over a delicious key lime pie martini), and the rest was history. After that date, they continued to try new restaurants, breweries, and wineries... and this lead Kylee to devlop a passion for food and cooking, and turned the couple into the foodies they are today!
Hector graduated from college and commissioned into the US Army Reserves in spring of 2014. One year later, Kylee did the same and made the move from the Midwest to Arizona. The transition was hard for Kylee at first, but Hector was always there for her, and she fell in love with the desert's beauty, mountains, and wildlife. The couple has had many adventures since: hiking and swimming in Sabino Canyon, experiencing Tucson's vibrant culture and foodie scene, playing in the snow in Flagstaff, seeing the red rocks of Sedona, and traversing down the Grand Canyon. And now, Arizona is their home.
