A super pretty lakeside loop with wetlands, birds, and lots of open space for a sunrise/sunset stroll or an easy jog.
Shepparton Art Museum
A great low-effort outing: pop into the museum (free entry) and then grab excellent coffee + breakfast/lunch upstairs. SAM is open 10am–4pm (closed Tuesdays).

Shepparton Moooving Art
Shepparton’s quirky public art trail with 90+ life-sized decorated cows scattered around town—Monash Park is a great starting point.
The Museum of Vehicle Evolution (MOVE)
A genuinely fun, surprisingly big transport museum with classic cars, motorbikes, trucks, buses and more. It’s a great rainy-day plan or an “I have a couple hours” activity.
Australian Botanic Gardens Shepparton
Huge native-focused gardens that are open all day, every day. Great for an easy walk, birdwatching, and a low-key nature reset. Note: no dogs.
Aquamoves
If you want something super easy: indoor + outdoor pools and full fitness facilities. The indoor area has family-fun features like a waterslide, “Rapid River,” and Tarzan swing, plus hydrotherapy/spas.
KidsTown - Adventure Playground
Amazing if you’ve got kids (or if your crew just wants a wholesome, goofy stop): fully fenced play areas, giant slides, mazes, train rides, plus loads of picnic/BBQ space under big river red gums.
Kialla Lakes Walk
A simple, pretty loop that’s great for a walk/jog or an easy bike—flat and easy, and open year-round
Dookie
(~25–30 min drive) Best nearby “real hike.” Mount Major (Mulana nin iyoga) is short but rewarding, with big open views over farmland—perfect if you want a proper outdoor moment without a huge day trip.
Kyabram Fauna Park (Zoos Victoria)
(~30 minute drive) A vast bushland and wetland sanctuary for native wildlife.
Mitchelton Wines
(~45–60 min drive) A scenic “make a day of it” winery on the Goulburn River—tastings plus a beautiful estate vibe that works well for a long lunch and a wander.
Tahbilk Estate - Cellar Door
(~45–60 min drive) One of Australia’s classic historic wineries (founded 1860). Expect old-world buildings, a great cellar-door stop, and a visit that feels uniquely “regional Victoria.”
Echuca
(~1 hr 15 min drive) Classic Murray River town energy. The big “must” is the historic port/wharf area and a paddlesteamer cruise—easy, scenic, and extremely Australia.
