It was December of 2020. Veronica was home from school on winter break, spending a Friday night with the usual cast of characters at Micaela’s mom's house in Camp Hill. At one point Micaela said: "Our friend Kyle from high school is coming over, he graduated from Wilkes this year and moved back home. I think you'd like him." Micaela was scheming, Veronica was nervous, Kyle was clueless. It turns out that pressuring Kyle into asking for Veronica's snapchat was not the key to everlasting love. There may have been a "spark," but it wasn't realized that night. Veronica went back to school, and they resumed their daily lives. Fast forward to Memorial Day 2021. The same group gathers at the same house to celebrate the holiday. Kyle sees Veronica after several months and decides to strike up a conversation... they never stopped talking after that.
