Calico is an old West mining town that has been around since 1881 and was abandoned in the mid-1890s after silver lost its value. The town that once gave miners a good living lost its hustle and became a “ghost town.” Along with its history and attractions, Calico Ghost Town has shops, restaurants and offers camping, hiking and off-roading. This is where we took our engagement photos!
Peggy Sue's Diner is famous for its immersive 1950s theme, extensive pop culture memorabilia, classic diner food, and its unique Diner-Saur Park. Visitors love the nostalgic atmosphere, the huge collection of souvenirs in the 5 & Dime store, and the whimsical dinosaur garden out back. Built in 1954 with 9 counter stools and 3 booths, it sets in on the shadow of the Calico Mountains and was built from railroad ties and mortar from the nearby Union Pacific Rail yard.
