It all started back in February 2022 when Kyle came to Phuket, Thailand to intern at an international church which Shelby attended. They became fast friends and for the next couple months, hung out often. In April, Kyle asked Shelby out and they drove to a special lookout point to watch the sunset and chatted for hours. When May rolled around, Kyle's internship was coming to a close. He was moving back to America while Shelby was staying in Thailand. Both thought the idea of a long-distance relationship seemed nearly impossible, but they decided this connection was too strong not to try. After over a year of a FaceTime relationship, God called Kyle to do ministry in Phuket and they could finally date in person. In February of this year, Kyle popped the question and Shelby ecstatically said yes!
