We LOVE this little island. This is one of the coolest places either of us has ever visited. It is truly a magical place and a must see destination! We recommend making a lunch or dinner reservation at Restaurant Fermes (see link), which will give you closer private parking access inside of the gates and then you get a delicious meal. The ideal day would include a tour of the Abbey, grab lunch at one of the many restaurants on the island, explore the cobblestone streets and shops, and then take the bus back to Restaurant Fermes for an amazing dinner.
This is Champagne central. If you are interested in touring any champagne houses, this is the best city to go to. There are the big champagne houses like Taittinger, Moet, Boizel, Perrier-Joet and some lesser known names. All are amazing and offer full tours and tasting experiences. Book as early as possible. Also look at surrounding areas on Tripadvisor for tastings and dining experiences at smaller chateaus.
This is an obvious one, but definitely worth it. A typical tour day is split between the palace interior and the grounds. Our advice would be to get there early and grab a golf cart to tour the grounds and gardens first! It is hands-down the best way to enjoy the property and see a good chunk of it in a single day. Bonus: find the coffee cart by Domaine de Marie Antoinette for snacks and champagne-to-go. Once you finish the grounds, you can make your way back inside to enjoy the rooms and famous hall of mirrors.
A river cruise is such an amazing way to see the city! We recommend a sunset or night cruise, but do not recommend a dinner cruise. Opt for a champagne tasting cruise, or just a sight seeing cruise. There are so many amazing restaurants in Paris, don't waste a night of dining on reheated food on a boat.
This is one of our favorite areas of Paris. If you are looking to have your portrait drawn, or are into a more artsy scene, this place is for you. The streets are beautiful and the main square is full of amazing artists who set up shop every day. This is also a great place for more unique souvenirs!
Make sure you are going to the location that is across from the Opera house. Not only is this mall beautifully designed and decorated, the rooftop has a view of the city that rivals the view from the Eiffel Tower. There is a cafe on the roof if you want to grab a bite, otherwise take a few pictures and enjoy a close up view of the rooftops of the city.
