How We Met

December 9, 2023

Kyle and I met online on Hinge in November 2023. Neither of us really did much on the dating apps, but we both happened to be on around the same time. I had also recently increased my age range to from 30 to 32 and, lo and behold, Kyle was exactly 32 at the time. Kyle and I talked for a few weeks before we went on our first date at Postino on Colorado and 8th in Denver. We were originally supposed to meet the week before, but Kyle had to reschedule since he had to bring our dog, Bee, to his brother’s house as he was leaving on a trip that week. I got to Postino first and Kyle called me when he got there. I couldn’t find my phone so I answered his call on my watch. He tells me that the first thing he remembers when he saw me is that I smiled and excitedly waved at him from the table. Our first date lasted around 3 hours as we sat and talked about our lives, getting to know each other. I remember when the waiter came by and asked if we wanted another drink and Kyle immediately said “yes” so we didn’t end our date quite yet. That gave me butterflies as I also didn’t want to leave yet! After that date, Kyle asked me on a second date and then a third date and so on and so forth. We have been inseparable since!

Our Engagement

February 22, 2026

Kyle and I went to look at engagement rings in December 2025 right after Christmas. We had always said that we were going to marry each other, but that made it more real. We had a trip planned to Destin, Florida in April 2026, and I figured he would propose to me there. I was even planning to get a new dress and my nails done right before the trip to prepare for it. Then, Kyle surprised me by proposing before that trip! He asked his sister, Katie, and friend, Matt, to take photos of the proposal since I always mentioned wanting photos. Matt and his wife, Presley, texted Kyle and I asking to go to dinner in Conifer on a Sunday night. I was personally shocked that Kyle said yes to that since we normally are hermits at home on Sunday nights. Before we left for dinner that day, I was busy stressing about our Xfinity bill being wrong (again) and how I needed to meal prep for the week. I asked Kyle if we wanted to cancel and stay home that night and he let me know that we already committed and needed to go. I had mentioned to him that we should make an afternoon of this and walk around Conifer before this (not knowing that was his plan all along). We were getting ready to leave and Kyle dressed nicely for dinner which got me wondering a bit if he planned to propose. I texted my friend, Sophie, asking why he was dressed nicely for dinner but, of course, she told me she had no idea why (which was not true). I dressed a bit nicer just in case but talked myself out of it on the drive to dinner. Funny enough, we passed our wedding venue on the way up and I made a comment that I really liked that venue online! I still wasn’t aware he was about to propose. We stopped at a trailhead in Conifer, and Kyle tried to convince me that I didn’t need a coat when it was 30 degrees outside. I stubbornly still wore my coat. We walked to the map at the trailhead and I told Kyle we needed to go right to go up the trail, but he went left into a field. I was really confused when he kept calling me into the field, so I stood at the edge. He then came back and asked me if I was going to make this difficult and I instantly figured out what was happening. I dropped my coat, purse, and sunglasses and finally followed him into the field. He got down on one knee, told me I was the love of his life, and asked me to marry him. I immediately said yes! Then, Katie and Matt came out from hiding in the bushes to celebrate with us. After that, Kyle brought me to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. I thought it would just be us, but he secretly invited both of our families to join us! It was the best day. Kyle told me this day was special to him too since both of us wore number 22 in sports in high school which was the same number his dad wore playing basketball. That is why he chose to propose on 2/22/26.
