How we met

2017

Call it coincidence, luck, or fate, their paths would cross on a busy work day in 2017. Kyle & Sandy both work in the construction industry which can be extremely hectic at times. Kyle was in and out of meetings all morning, and Sandy was busy on a soon to be construction site of her own getting a lay of the land. Kyle's meetings concluded and as he walked to his office he noticed someone in the lobby, it was Sandy. They introduced themselves, and Sandy followed her introduction with "I've been calling you." She then proceeded to explain how she had managed to lock herself inside a vestibule in a hangar that was set to be demolished. In typical Kyle fashion, he laughed, and they continued chatting for some time. He was intrigued by her and she found him to be, interesting. Work progressed, e-mails were exchanged. Sandy would occasionally make job-site visits, changing from her high heeled shoes to construction boots, hard hat, and vest. Months passed and the e mails slowed. One day, Kyle remembered that Sandy mentioned she was taking a vacation with her Mother to FL. He recalled the conversation they had and figured he would check in to see how her vacation went. He shot her a quick e-mail, and waited. She replied, and stated that she had a great vacation. Shortly thereafter, after another long day in the office, Kyle's phone rang. It was Sandy with an oh so important question for him. It was 6:00PM. She said "Oh, you're still in the office! I have a question for you." The "Question", led to over an hour of conversation about everything BUT work. As the conversation continued, Sandy said "Ok, its time for you to go home. See, I could be your boss, right?" "Yes, Boss." he replied. The rest is history in the making

The proposal

12.26.19

After a long day of work the couple decided to head out on the town for a little adventure. Georgetown Glow was the destination event choice for the evening. After a brief walk, a bit of disappointment, and dinner, they were off to adventure some more along the Georgetown Waterfront. Kyle thought this would be the perfect place to pop the question. He hugged her, and told her to face the river so he could take a picture of her. As he prepared to make his move a group of people approached, somewhat noisily, and ruined the moment. He was dejected, but determined. "Come on, lets get in the car and go somewhere else" he said. While driving around, Sandy mentioned the Lincoln Memorial, which the two of them had been to for their SECOND date. As they walked there, she said "this reminds me of one of our first dates. It's a cool night, and we walked and walked and walked. Remember when I asked you if you were a walker?" He laughed, knowing what was about to happen. As they approached the Memorial, Kyle discovered that he may have to bite the bullet and propose in front of thousands of people. As they walked around the memorial, they made it to the back where, to their surprise, they were the only two there. Seeing this as the perfect moment, Kyle told her to stay where she was so he could take a picture of her. She noticed that he was taking a bit longer than someone should to take a picture, so she turned around looking for him, only to see him down on one knee. Without hesitation, he asked "Will you marry me?" Filled with surprise, and excitement, her words escaped her so in true Sandy fashion, she said, "Oh, wait, oh OF COURSE!" Followed by non stop giggles.

Wedding Bells

10.10.2020

We are excited to celebrate this new chapter of our lives with all of you! After long days and sleepless nights, it was difficult for us to settle on a location to say "I Do". We took a step back to ensure we considered all of our options, and settled on a Destination Wedding. We are headed to Barbados to Say "I Do". We understand travelling to celebrate with us is a big ask, but we certainly hope to have as many of you there with us as possible for our special day. "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is Love" - 1 Corinthians 13:13 -Kyle & Sandy
