Kyle and Rachel first met at Grand Valley State University in 2012. Kyle was a junior pursuing a degree in biology and a minor in criminal justice and Rachel was pursuing a degree in criminal justice and a minor in business and juvenile justice. Kyle and Rachel both decided to get involved in the Criminal Justice Student Association in 2012. They both were looking to branch out at Grand Valley and get to know more people in their every day classes. The first volunteering activity Kyle and Rachel did together with the CJSA was the Warrior Run. They both volunteered at the run. The next activity was a bake sale. Rachel invite Kyle over to bake some cookies for the bake sale. Of course that is when Rachel's klutzy side came out and she hit her head on a cabinet while getting a blender out. Nevertheless, Kyle thought she was cute and asked her on a double date to the movies with Kyle's roommate. The date went well and Kyle asked Rachel to be his girlfriend on February 5, 2013 and they have been together ever since!
