Question

What is the Gospel?

Answer

The Gospel is the word “Good News” and is derived derived from the Greek word “euongelion” and the good news traces back to the beginning of our existence, that God had made us in His image and created us for His Glory and relationship with Him, but given the instruction to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, in the Garden of Eden, humanity turned its back on God and disobeyed His commands. Through this fall all humans are now born into sin, and we see the effects of this all around us, that our world is fallen through the effects of sin, but God is a God of love, and 2000 years ago He humbly stepped down from His throne in Heaven, took on Human flesh and was born in a manger, came and lived the perfect life, one which fulfilled the law that exposed sin in mankind. A life lived without sin, which made him the perfect sacrifice for our sin. Jesus was beaten and crucified, taking on God’s wrath on humanity, and after His death, He rose from the dead, showing that He conquered sin and death, and promises eternal life for ALL who believe! The Apostle Paul wrote, “For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬) God calls all to repentance and that our trust would be placed in the finished work of His son on the cross! This is none of our own doing as Paul writes, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ Jesus took joy in putting himself on the cross, knowing that what awaits for Him is to spend eternity with His creation! Place your trust in Jesus today, for the forgiveness of your sins and abundant life here on Earth!!

Question

What is God’s design for marriage?

Answer

God’s design for marriage, that Morgan and Kyle will be taking part in on May 19th is the picture of Jesus and His Church! What does the Church do in its role to Jesus, Paul writes in Ephesians 5, “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.” Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬-‭24‬ the wife is the picture of the bride of Jesus, and the man’s (Kyle’s) role is to model Jesus in this picture, Paul continues with this, “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.” Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭25‬-‭28‬ ‭The man’s job in marriage is to be like Christ, sacrificing all for His wife, even to the point of death as Jesus did for us, and helping to sanctify and present His wife blameless before the Lord one day! In this the Husband takes up a serious role in God’s design for marriage, to be totally sacrificial in all that he does! This is one of God’s “mysteries” and it is so beautiful and an AMAZING place of ministry that bears so much fruit in how God’s love is shown in marriage!!
