The dress code for Friday is cocktail attire, so think something stylish and semi-formal but also something you're comfortable wearing. This might mean a nice dress shirt and blazer for men, or a dress or pantsuit (think Hillary Clinton; James Presley-Nelson, you cannot wear your brown pantsuit).
Our dress code for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception is black-tie optional. This means tuxedos and gowns are encouraged. Suits and dresses are also acceptable; we want you to be comfortable, but attire should also be formal. Please note that the ceremony will be held on a flagstone patio, and cocktail hour will be held in a grassy area for those who want to consider options for shoes.
Great question! Mike will give you a consulting answer of "it depends." Generally, lows will be around 40-50 degrees, and highs will be around 60-70 degrees. Weather can be unpredictable in the Poconos, so we could be in for snow or a summer-like day.
While we love your children (anyone under 21 years of age), they are not invited to any of the events on Saturday. Please note that children are invited to the welcome drinks on Friday. Additionally, Skytop Lodge is a family-friendly resort and has plenty of activities to entertain children.
Not all invited guests will receive a plus one. If you receive a plus one, it will be indicated on the invitation (e.g., Mike Howe and Guest). If you have any questions about whether you have a plus one, please reach out to Mike or Kyle.
Yes! We respectfully ask that you do not use your phones during the ceremony, to include taking any pictures. We want our guests to be present in the moment, our vows to be free of any notifications, and our professional pictures to be free of anyone holding up their iPhone.
Most people who are flying in will need to rent a car. Note that Ubers and Lyfts are fairly limited in the Poconos, so please do not rely on rideshare to get you around the area.
We have arranged for transportation between Skytop and our welcome drinks at Barley Creek on Friday. A 38-person shuttle will depart Skytop at 5:30pm and will make loops between the two places. If you're not able to make the 5:30pm shuttle, the next shuttle will likely depart Skytop at 6:30pm or so.
Yes, there is ample, free parking available at Skytop Lodge for guests coming to and from the venue.
Many guests will stay on property at Skytop Lodge, where all of our events on Saturday will be held. Skytop is a beautiful and historic lodge in the heart of the Poconos with resort amenities. There are several accommodation options including The Lodge, The Inn, and The Cottages. Think of The Lodge as the main hotel, The Inn as a more secluded space, and The Cottages as an option with multi-room setups (potentially for families or small groups). We have a block of 50 rooms reserved. A two-night minimum is required for Saturday stays. Please call and reference Howe/Harris Wedding room block for the special rate ($329 per night). All reservations must be made prior to September 3, 2025 to receive the discounted block rate. For alternative lodging options that are within a reasonable distance of the venue, please check out Mount Airy and The Swiftwater. For more details on these options (and others!), please see our "Travel" page.
Yes! As most of you know, food allergies are near and dear to our heart (if you don't know, offer Kyle gluten and see what happens). If you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, you will have an opportunity to indicate that on your RSVP.
Yes! Feel free to use #howetogetaharris in all of your social media posts to share in the fun with others.
We will send formal invitations about two months before our wedding, which will include instructions on how to RSVP. More to come!
Please reach out to Mike and Kyle! We are happy to help with anything to make it easier for you to enjoy the wedding weekend.
