Pride, and the rest was history

A short story on how we met | July 22, 2017

July 2017, the start of it all. Kyle went about his usual Pride endevours attending an annual party hosted by a soon mutual friend. While enjoying the party for it’s usual festivities, fabulous people, great food, delicious drinks, music, and infamous jello shots – one man visiting from Toronto walked into the party, and the story began… Mike made his way to Halifax to visit a friend of his that lived there at the time, taking advantage of it being Pride. Upon Mike’s arrival to the party, he was introduced to many new acquaintances that little did he know, would become some of the most significant friendships of his life in Halifax. After meeting what seemed to be so many people, he stepped out onto the back deck at the party where most were sharing stories, enjoying drinks, and basking in the afternoon sun. Mike noticed some guy chatting with a group of friends, that happened to notice his grand entrance. They locked eyes and were soon introduced. The rest of the party was a blur, Kyle and Mike were inseparable – sharing their first kiss on the front deck at the end of their evening. The next night, they met up – discussed in depth their difficult history with relationships, aired their dirty laundry, and learned their connection was growing at warp speed. The path was clear, and they started knocking off a year’s worth of ‘firsts’ in just a few months… First date, first long distance (international, overseas) trip, first bear event, first night in another country, a few days stay at the Luxury QEII Hospital upon their return to Halifax (that’s a good story). Kyle flew to Toronto in November 2017 to help Mike pack up his apartment to move to Halifax. They had signed a lease together the month prior. Mike moved to Halifax, and the rest is history. We have many more stories and a habit of doing everything unconventionally. We could not be happier to have you as a part of our forever story! We look forward to seeing you all in July 2021! With love, Kyle & Mike
