The day before our first date Kyle wanted to meet me over FaceTime before asking for my number. He thought it seemed weird to text a girl he didn’t know. So on FaceTime he asked me if I wanted to get dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings with him the following night. At first I had other plans so I said I couldn’t, but those plans fell through so I told him the following day I could go. While at BWW he didn’t say more than 3 words to me the entire time, but we were with his brother Jason and a friend of mine from school and they kept the conversation flowing. We went to an ice cream shop after and got a little desert but I still wasn’t sure if he was into me or not. So I tested him a little by asking if he wanted a bite of my ice cream and offered him one off my spoon. He quickly took a bite off my spoon and smiled. I figured there might be a little spark. So at the end of the date we said goodbye and got in our cars to leave. I wondered why he didn’t try to kiss me, but figured he didn’t want to because it was the first date. (Tho I would have kissed him back in a heartbeat) I passed him as he was about to get on the highway and saw that he looked unhappy. I decided to call him and tell him I’d love to see him again, and he seem utterly shocked. He asked to see me the following day just the two of us and things couldn’t have gone better. It was that date that I knew we were a match and the night ended with a kiss I will never forget.
I had know for a few weeks that an engagement could possibly be in the works. Mostly because Kyle can’t keep a secret to save his life. Lol. We were on vacation with my family in Florida and just enjoying the beach and sunshine. But I had a feeling that it was going to happen at any moment. So any time we would go out to eat or go for a walk on the beach, I’d get dressed cute and do my hair and makeup. It got to a point where I had makeup on the entire vacation. Lol. So the night he proposed we were all going to the beach for “family pictures” at sunset, I knew what was about to happen. So I put on a cute outfit and did my hair and makeup AGAIN and we headed to the beach. Kyle was sweating bullets and I was teasing him asking why he looked so nervous. He grabbed my hand and put it on his pocket and I felt a box. I then also started sweating profusely. My family was so obvious when they said they were gonna hang back while we walked for a little. We made it maybe 15 yards down the beach and he stopped and pulled out the box and got down on one knee. It was the most special moment when he asked me to marry him with tears in both of our eyes and I said of course! He opened the box and my jaw hit the floor. Because inside the little box was the most beautiful ring I had ever seen with a light shining on it to emphasize just how sparkley it was. That moment was one I will treasure for the rest of my life. I couldn’t in that moment or any moment since think of a better man to spend the rest of my life with.
