Maid of Honor
Despite standing next to each other in choir at Gonzaga for two years, Maren and Cailey's friendship truly blossomed as they embarked on their post-grad journey together (ask them about their first one-on-one coffee date if you need a good laugh). From the role of Maren's first boss out of college to corporate teammate, roommate, international travel buddy, best friend, and more, Cailey has quickly become one of the most important people to Kyle and Maren. Beyond being Maren's favorite duet partner on car rides of ANY length, Cailey has graciously accepted the additional role of Maid of Honor on Maren and Kyle's special day.
Maid of Honor
Maren and Madi's friendship dates all the way back to their days at Tassajara Hills Elementary, most vividly starting when they were the only two kids to get carsick during a first-grade field trip. Since then, they have shared almost 20 years of one of the most special friendships. Those 20 years have been spent playing together on elementary school softball teams to weeks spent at summer camp, taking girls' trips across the West Coast with their moms, avoiding the opera singer at their favorite hometown Italian restaurant, and catching planes to see one another no matter the distance. We are so honored to have Madi stand with us on our special day!
Best Man
Alex and Kyle go WAY BACK (all the way back to the day Kyle was born). Growing up together on San Juan Island, Alex and Kyle got along as well as any two brothers could be expected to, playing in the yard and hitting in the batting cage, while often fighting over who could have the last piece of chicken at dinner. Alex, being five years older, passed down many things to Kyle, from a barely functioning '93 Ford Explorer as his first car to a passion for sports and hard work. After Kyle served as Alex's best man at 16, Kyle never questioned who he would want by his side on the most important day of his life (aside from draft night of their dad's fantasy football league, in which they are both still looking to unseat other members of the family as champions).

Despite only becoming Kyle’s brother-in-law in 2018, Ryan has known Kyle since before he could walk. Back when Kyle's older sister Brooke couldn’t imagine marrying her childhood best friend, Ryan would often be over at the Jangard house and see Kyle on the couch eating impossible amounts of Goldfish and popcorn. Later, after Ryan and Brooke began dating, Ryan and then 13-year-old Kyle ended up bunking together on a vacation to Whidbey Island. Being the youngest of four brothers, Ryan was a good sport about it. Little did he know Kyle would keep him up until midnight writing on his laptop and eating handfuls of Skittles in bed. Since then, Ryan’s flawlessly folded into the Jangard family dynamic, becoming the go-to tech support and always ready to crack a beer or a smile. His sharp wit has also introduced the entire family to the concept of ‘sarcasm’, which Kyle is still getting the hang of.

Maren and Georgia's friendship is proof that everything happens for a reason - meeting by chance after a housing mix-up left them both in need of a roommate freshman year. These two have seen each other through thick and thin throughout their tenure at Gonzaga, including studying abroad together in Glasgow, Scotland, and now through the ups and downs of adulthood, corporate America, and medical school. Always being able to count on one another for support, laugh until you cry jokes, some of the best hugs, and never saying no to a baked good, Maren is honored to know she has Georgia to count-on on her wedding day and every other day for that matter.

Maren's mom loves to tell the story of Ryan coming home from the hospital and a tiny, bossy, two-year-old Maren being CONVINCED he must be a belated birthday present for her, being born three days after her second birthday. For a toddler who loved baby dolls, what could be better than having your own REAL-LIFE baby to play with? She was so excited that when her mom tried to pick up baby Ryan, Maren smacked her mom's leg, stating, "He's not your brudder (brother); he's my brudder." From day 1, being Ryan's big sister has been one of Maren's most cherished titles. Even more special has been watching Ryan and Kyle over the years and seeing their special connection. Maren and Kyle couldn't imagine their wedding without little "brudder" by their side.

Prior to Kyle and Maren moving in together, Coe held the distinct honor (or burden, depending on who you ask) of living with Kyle the longest, sharing three houses together from their final year in college through their post-grad years in Seattle. Along the way, they've developed an inseparable bond that they both can say will make them lifelong teammates. Usually the first ones to bring up a reason to grab a beer, they've gotten into many a situation that makes for a good story the next morning. For a good laugh at Kyle's expense, ask Coe about the barrel incident in their final semester at Gonzaga.

If you look up the definition of "heart of gold" in the dictionary, you'll probably see a picture of a smiling Sophia. Sophia has served as a constant in Maren's life for nearly a decade, encouraging her to look for the magic, chaos, and whimsy in all of life's moments. From dancing their way across Europe and the UK to breaking it down in their college living room to a variety of Pit Bull songs with their best friends, Sophia excels at creating some of the best and strangest shared memories. We are so grateful for her wonderfully witchy soul! Thanks for bringing to magic to this day and all days, Soph!

Some people just click, and we can honestly say that was the case for Sydney and Maren. From the moment their friendship began, Maren and Sydney's shared excitement over whatever they are both currently hyper-fixating on brought them together in a way that felt like they had known each other forever rather than just a few years. Her unwavering support and infectious energy has been a constant source of joy and laughter for both Kyle and Maren. We can't not mention how absolutely clutch Syd was in helping Kyle propose. In addition to being his personal barber (his hair looks great right?!), Sydney was there as Kyle's right hand man every step of the way. One of the many reasons we love her!

Maren has had the immeasurable pleasure of having a friend like Charissa in her life. Meeting freshman year at Gonzaga, Maren and Charissa quickly realized how well their chaotic and lively energies suited one another. These two could be found across campus, usually with a seasonally flavored latte in hand, and probably laughing a little too loud for whatever building they were in, planning their next adventure together. It has been a joy to benefit from Charissa's adventurous spirit, determination, and the incredible love she has for her friends. We are so lucky to have her support us on our special day.

Ian has been a guide for Kyle since they first met, when Kyle by chance sat down next to him in his first ever college class. From that moment on, Kyle turned to Ian, from when he walked onto the rowing team at Gonzaga, learning from the ‘Golden Boy’ that made top boat even as a freshman (though Coe will tell you Ian was just coaches favorite). In the years after, Ian was the first person to show Kyle his future home city of Seattle, taking him on a guided tour of the different neighborhoods with the perfect combination of awkwardness and authenticity that we’ve come to expect from our favorite German boy. We’re so happy to have you back on the west coast, Goldie, Go Gophers!

It's amazing to think that the first other Maren, Maren Fleming would meet, would become such an important person in her life! The first time Maren (F) met Maren (J), Maren Johnson ran up and gave her the biggest hug, the start of an incredible friendship! From nerding out over the newest season of Ru Paul's Drag Race, always being down to try a new Seattle restaurant (especially one that accommodates both of their dietary restrictions), and masterminding how to end nights out with ice cream, moments with Maren have been a source of immense joy. There's no one else Maren Fleming would want to share the title of "Other Maren" with. It'll only get slightly more complicated when both of them have the initials, M.J.

Maren and Kyle have Cailey to thank for bringing Blaine into their lives. From the get-go, Blaine and Kyle have been inseparable, bonding over their love for history, economics, Dungeons and Dragons, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, board games, sports, memes, random dance breaks, and more. The first time Blaine visited the island with Kyle and Maren, Kyle's dad had to double check that these two weren't separated at birth! (kidding kidding) Over the last few years, double dates, game nights, and dance parties have made Blaine an irreplaceable part of our wedding party and one of our favorite people.

Like many in the wedding party, Kyle met John rowing at Gonzaga, but the two grew closer in his senior year and after graduation, living together and sharing a connection for new adventures. Over the years, John has become a constant bright spot in Kyle and Maren’s life, just as much from his optimistic personality as his bright red hair. From leading a weekend surfing trips on the Washington coast to making homemade onigiri while introducing a new anime show, John is likely the person most responsible, after Maren, for helping Kyle broaden his horizons past the sample size he tends to set for himself.
