How did we meet/first date?

September 14, 2021

Like any modern day couple, we found each other while browsing online. Lindsay was immediately drawn to Kyle, and Kyle was clearly interested as he made the first contact. Lindsay knew he was worth meeting when he joked about (rather than ran from) her love of serial killers. They bonded over The Office and set a date to meet! Kyle offered to pick Lindsay up for a late lunch, and Lindsay took him up on the offer. Kyle and Lindsay had lunch at a local Mexican restaurant on Lake Conroe. The date went great and Lindsay actually texted her best friend from the bathroom, “he’s perfect. You watch, I’m gonna marry this man one day”. Neither Lindsay or Kyle wanted the day to end. They walked down the boat ramp to take in the lake. It was wonderful! Then they decided to drive around and get to know each other more. The driving led to a small antique store off the side of the road. Lindsay and Kyle browsed the store while laughing about silly things they found. Kyle asked if he should buy a children’s book about “Native American bread making” as a gift to her mother. The first glimpse into his incredible humor. Finally, they ended up at a local park. They decided to walk the nature trail, which ultimately got them VERY lost. Kyle held Lindsay’s hand as they walked and as they got deeper into the “woods”, he turned and kissed her for the first time. Lindsay knew then she had found someone very special.

How did he propose?

February 14, 2021

It was Valentine’s Day! Lindsay knew a proposal was on the way but had no clue when. Kyle suggested that they both get dressed up and "recreate" their first date. Keep in mind this was February 14, 2021... the first day of the massive freeze. Kyle and Lindsay first stopped at the Mexican restaurant on Lake Conroe. Kyle was quiet but it was still kind of early so Lindsay didn't think much of it. They then walked down the boat ramp, walking as slow as possible hoping to not slip into the frigid water. They stood on the dock for a minute, took a picture together, then Kyle said "I guess this is when I should propose" while lowering to one knee. He then popped back up and said "just kidding. Sorry, that wasn't funny". They both laughed and walked off the dock. They then drove to the park to walk the nature trail. Kyle was acting really strange the whole way there but Lindsay never thought about it. They got to the trail and started walking. It was freezing but so fun to be on our first date again. They had to walk single file for a while since the trail was so narrow. Kyle finally took the lead and walked into this small clearing. He said "I think this is where we had our first kiss". He kissed Lindsay, then dropped to a knee, pulled out the ring and asked her to marry him! I wish I could give more details but it was all a blur! It was a magical moment. Of course, Lindsay said YES!

For all the days along the way
