The first time we ever met was at Blend in Lodi. My friend Scotty had taken me out for the night, and while we were there he ran into some people he knew who were hanging out in the outside patio. He brought me over to introduce me, and as we were all talking, I noticed a very attractive woman—Kristina—at the table next to us. Just as Scotty and I were about to leave, this same very attractive woman 😉 suddenly and elegantly leaped across the table, grabbed my arm, and told me how hot I was. I knew right then and there—she had great taste. 😂 As fate would have it, a few months later we both ended up at the same birthday party at West Lane Bowl in Stockton. I had brought Ava with me, not realizing she would be the only child there. Things were getting a little awkward, and I was thinking about leaving, but then I looked back toward the entrance. Through the automatic doors walked the most beautiful, electric woman I had ever seen—wearing black pants, a red flannel, and hair like the midnight sky. In that moment, I decided to stay a little longer. While the other adults were busy getting drinks and ordering food, Kristina came straight over and started talking to me. I couldn’t believe that this gorgeous woman actually wanted to talk to me. But what truly got me was how sweet and kind she was to my daughter. She immediately noticed that Ava felt out of place, and she made it her mission to make sure she felt seen, welcome, and important. Then something happened that Ava had never done before. She looked up at me and asked, “Daddy, can I bowl with the nice lady?” My heart completely melted. In that moment, I knew I didn’t want to let Kristina go. She was too special. And now, seven years later, that incredible woman is about to become my wife.
