Kristina moved to Charleston to be closer to her brother Jeff. She had visited a couple times before finally deciding to pack up and leave Sturbridge for a new chapter in life. Kyle had been living in Charleston for several years, and at the time living with childhood friend Lila. Kristina met Lila through Jeff, and heard about Lila's roommate Kyle. She had been over to Lila and Kyle's apartment many times but never ran into him, just his messy room with clothes everywhere. She assumed the worst. After a long day full of bad golf shots and heat stroke, Kyle finally made it out to the bar where he would meet the future love of his life. I guess he made some kind of lasting impression, and the two hit it off from there. Kyle was charming and Kristina was PERSISTENT.
On a warm evening in August, We gathered at Nancy and Gary's dock for a sunset jet ski ride up the Ashely River with Jeff and Lila, and Kat and Willy. It was a great night to ride with smooth water and a beautiful sky. I didn't want it to end, but the boys were adamant about getting back to the dock. Little did I know, it was all part of a plan and my engagement ring was sitting on the dock in Kyle's backpack. We got back to the dock, and with the sun setting Kyle asked me the easiest question I have ever answered. Courtney, Ryan and my Parents were back at the house setting up a surprise engagement party. After saying YES on the dock, we all went back to the house to see a beautiful setting they set up for us. It was a perfect night and the most perfect proposal.
