We met when we both worked at Walmart, if you would call it meeting. I don't know that either of us were formally introduced. I DO know that I developed a huge crush on him at some point. I couldn't even speak in front of him, as out of character as that sounds, because this girl can TALK. But it's true. He would ask me a question and instead of thinking of an acceptable response to say, all my brain could do was squeal, "Kyle King is talking to US!" Which was Not helpful. And led me to either not saying anything at all and staring at him like a deer in headlights or giving him very short answers. He thought I was a snob due to this because he couldn't hear what was going on in my head, thank goodness! Life took us on separate paths. I left Walmart to work at Kohl's, while he left and went to a Walmart in Goshen. A little more than 3 years and some major heartbreak later, it was early 2020, the year the world seemed to shut down. I got a kind message from him telling me he appreciated the encouraging things I wrote on Facebook and to keep being me. Again, my brain squealed, "Oh my goodness, Kyle King is messaging me!" But this time, I could message him back because when talking is hard, writing is usually something I can do. That led to more communication, a friendship in which he realized I was never a snob, just a girl with a major crush, and then eventually a first in person date. We took our time and were intentional at every step. Eventually, Kyle King was introduced to my daughter, Lily. Lily has called Kyle King "Best Friend" ever since. We became officially a couple (on Facebook) in August of 2021. In September, Kyle King let it adorably slip that he loved me, and we've been officially, openly, honestly, full-heartedly loving each other ever since. I am thankful to him and for him every single day.
